Dean Basso reports to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs. Dean Basso provides the leadership and vision for the department. She works closely with the University Police, Legal Counsel, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Health Services to provide a safe, healthy campus climate. Serve as chairperson of the Health Review Committee evaluating students’ enrollment status in response to psychological, physical, or emotional situations affecting their safety, academic success, or impacting the campus community. Serve as Administrative Hearing Officer, advisor to Student Senate, and regularly convene the Council of Student Presidents. Coordinate the response to student crises. Develop, implement, and administer policies affecting student life. Serve as an advocate for student needs.

Provides leadership on strategic planning efforts, ongoing assessment of learning and programmactic outcomes, and annual reporting results, data and other vital Student Affairs information. Also is responsible for the ongoing professional development of the Dean of Students and Student Affairs staffs.
