For Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff if you would like to facilitate a discussion or workshop on a gender violence topic please be sure to utilize these important strategies in order to manage sensitivities:
1. Acknowledge that there may be survivors, perpetrators and/or family and friends of both present
2. Establish ground rules
3. State your agenda so students know exactly what is going to happen and for how long
4. Encourage students to self-care
5. Offer an opt out option
6. Check-in with students at the beginning and check-out with them at the end
7. Give students a break
8. Provide a handout with resources
9. Be available after
10. If possible provide food and drinks
