About Us
The Community Service Office (CSO) team is seeking motivated, adaptable, and community driven individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the local Southside community. This role is centered on connection, collaboration, and communication skills within a dynamic work environment.
Our office creates programs and experiences that bring students together in meaningful ways. We don’t just run events, we help build community with your Lehigh and South Bethlehem communities.
We’re a high-energy, collaborative office that knows life is too short for work to not be fun along the way. This is an opportunity to be more than just involved, you’ll help create the things that others experience.
Responsibilities
CSO Student Coordinators are student leaders who design and execute programs under our core areas of community engagement and leadership development.
- Communicate regularly with CSO team regarding tasks and updates
- Monitor and respond to emails from partner organizations, student groups, and community members
- Coordinate with CSO team members to support program planning and assist in the execution of programs based on community needs
- Complete administrative and operational tasks within the office
Time Commitment
- 5 hours in the CSO each week
- Attendance at one flagship program per semester
- Attendance at weekly staff meetings
- Occasional evening/weekend events based on your availability
- Participate in training to become a Site Leader at our different programs
Qualifications of a CSOer
We’re looking for first and second-year students who:
- Have a genuine interest in community engagement, service, and create meaningful experiences for others
- Take initiative and follow through on commitments
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to frequently lift and transport heavy items
- Willing to reflect and grow using feedback from CSO team
You don’t need previous experience, just a genuine interest in being part of this work with us.
