About the Position

The Community Service Office offers mentor positions to all Lehigh students, either as a work-study or volunteer position. As a Lunch Bunch Mentor, you will join elementary school students at Donegan Elementary School during their lunch period, have fun and engaging conversations with the students, and serve as a role model and mentor. In this role, you will be able to build meaningful mentoring relationships with these students to help support their growth and success in and outside of the classroom! 

Time Commitment

All applicants MUST be available during the 11am-1:30pm time slot on your chosen weekday (any day Monday-Friday). Transportation will be provided to Donegan Elementary School. 

Requirements

  • All mentors are required to work at least 2 days per week to ensure they can build meaningful mentoring relationships with the students. 
  • All mentors will be required to submit a (1) Child Abuse Clearance and (2) Criminal Record Check. 
  • All mentors will be required to complete a set of modules on course site for Working with Minors.

Lunch Bunch is a mentoring program hosted at Donegan Elementary School. During their lunch period, Donegan kiddos are provided opportunities for connection and conversation with their Lehigh mentor. 

Nope! We're looking for applicants who are caring, patient, and able to build positive relationships with others. 

Most of the time, your Donegan kiddo(s) will want to chat with you about anything and everything. There may be opportunities for activities such as games and crafts, depending on the time of the school year. 

There is no requirement to be outgoing to be a great Lunch Bunch mentor. Different kiddos need different things from their Lunch Bunch mentor. The most important thing is to be a thoughtful listener, genuinely engaged, and a consistent presence for your Donegan kiddo.
