Students will be required to meet with a faculty/staff member at least twice for 30 minutes (once in September and once in October). During these meetings, faculty/staff members will help students set academic and personal goals, consider resources for success, and encourage thoughtful reflection around bLUeprint's 5 Foundations. The first meeting will include discussing the student's overall transition to Lehigh, goal setting, and planning and tracking progress of the 5x10 program. The first meeting should take place in September around week 3 of classes.

Thousands of people from 500+ organizations across the country are descending on NYC on Sunday, 9/17 for the March to End Fossil Fuels (more info: https://default.salsalabs.org/Tc67e2d5a-82b6-4c7f-aa08-00934121880d/c6bd74d8-aa7b-45ef-9f31-7e0dc70b7901).
The United Nations is calling on world leaders to take real steps to lead us off fossil fuels to protect people and the planet. On September 20th in New York, the UN Climate Ambition Summit will gather world leaders to commit to phasing out fossil fuels.
The goal of the protest is to urge President Biden to take bold action to end fossil fuels ahead of the Climate Ambition Summit. Considering this past summer of record-breaking heatwaves and toxic wildfire smoke, our duty to take action against climate change is clear.
We will travel to the protest by bus and stick together as a group for the full duration. The bus will be departing from Farrington Square at 10:30AM, arrive at the protest at 56th and Broadway in NYC at around 12:30PM, and return to campus at around 6:30PM. SPAC has successfully organized buses to protests around the country in the past, such as a group of 50+ students to Washington DC last year. Many Lehigh students are frustrated with the lack of adequate climate action from our leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for Lehigh students to have their voices heard, join a mass movement, and gain experience in direct political action.
