In this session, participants will view Lehigh's vintage postcard collection, identify various postcard formats and handwriting styles, and transcribe handwritten messages. They will also learn how to find more information about the locations, senders and recipients of postcards by using Lehigh Library resources such as Ancestry.com, Historical Newspapers, the Brown and White, Alumni Directories...

Participants of this workshop will learn how to analyze all forms of media with a critical eye, and learn useful language strategies for writing or speaking about topics such as video games, social media, advertisements, and more. Participants of this workshop will walk away with a toolkit for analyzing media and presenting it academically.

Does anyone write in cursive anymore? Can anyone read your handwriting? What about handwritten documents from hundreds of years ago? In this 5x10 students will learn about the intersections between alphabets, languages, cultures, and scripts. We will analyze unique manuscripts written from the Middle Ages to the Modern period in languages including Latin, English, and Arabic. We will demonstrate how to transcribe sections of text in unfamiliar scripts and languages and attempt to translate the text to decode its meaning. Learn how to adapt to challenging and unfamiliar forms of communication. This session will provide an opportunity to interact with centuries-old material and learn about the rare and historical material available through the Lehigh Libraries Special Collections.

Be a Board MemberThe International Bazaar is a fully student led and student planned event with support from the Office of International Students & Scholars. The Board is composed of 4 committees:
Logistics - responsible for supplies, staging & sound, coordinating volunteers, and day of set-up/clean-up
Food - responsible for working with local restaurants to order and deliver food, food signage, and food tables
Entertainment - responsible for recruiting groups to perform or model fashion, recruiting groups to host a table, creating the schedule, overseeing performances and music, and working with MCs
Marketing - responsible for promoting participation and attendance in a variety of creative ways during the Spring semester, both on and off campus
