Trauma-informed yoga is a research proven way to help survivors of sexual trauma and those experiencing vicarious trauma heal from their trauma symptoms. It is a combination of focused breathing and mindfulness skills, as well as healing poses. Trauma-informed yoga is an opportunity to learn how to work with your own discomforts. It is a judgment free zone where every participant is able to go at their own pace and skill level. The practice is not meant to be a high cardio or strength training workout, it focuses on grounding, breathing, and mindfulness with comfortable, stretching poses.
Our instructor, Liz Jordon, is certified in trauma-informed practice. The instructor does not leave her own mat and will never touch participants to adjust their pose throughout the practice. It is a space where your body is entirely yours.
Students, faculty, and staff of all gender identities at all levels of healing from primary, secondary, and vicarious trauma are welcome and can benefit from trauma-informed yoga.
To celebrate Songkran, SEAL and TLCA (Thai Lao Cambodian Alliance) will host an event featuring three mini-games and stations for attendees to enjoy. Each activity will be supervised by E-board members. Mini-games include hopscotch, sharks and minnows, and steal the bacon. Stations will offer face painting with baby powder, a water balloon toss, and snacks/refill station. Attendees can also win prizes at the mini-game stations. The event concludes with a traditional water splashing celebration. Bringing Songkran to Lehigh’s campus aligns with SEAL’s and TLCA’s mission to promote Southeast Asian culture.

The African Wedding is our biggest annual event hosted by the African Students Association of both Lehigh anf Lafayete to celebrate the rich traditions of African weddings. This event is open to the Lehigh Community and aims to foster unity among different cultures and backgrounds in a celebration of love. The ceremony will include an already selected bride from Lehigh and a groom from Lafayette. They will have a grand entrance accompanied by their respective wedding parties to begin the festivities. The night will consist of music, dancing, games, performances, and a feast with traditional African dishes. Overall, African weddings are a joyous celebration of love, family, and culture. They are often rooted in traditions and customs passed down through generations, and they serve as an important reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the African continent. This creates unity and gives a sense of home to many students. The wedding will be held at the Aster Ballroom- Hyatt Hotel. Doors will open at 7pm.
