5x10: One Week Job: Sean Aiken

The Office of Student Engagement and the Center for Career and Professional Development are bringing speaker Sean Aiken to campus to talk about his One Week Job experience. After graduating with a business degree, Sean wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do. He set up a website asking for a job for one week with all wages to be donated to charity. What followed was a year spent exploring different industries and allowed Sean to discover his passion. Since this experience, Sean travels the world speaking about how to find one's passion in life and how that translates into professional life. 5 x 10: Men and Masculinity

Event Date

For mental illness awareness week, we are hosting an event to look specifically mental health and its relation with masculinity. It will be an open discussion for anyone in the space to share their experiences about how masculinity has affected their or someone they know's mental health. This event connects to the CGE's mission because it is creating a non-judgemental and safe space for people to discuss issues pertaining to gender practices with the intent of moving past preconceived social barriers to make for a more equitable campus.

Welcome to the SouthSide 5x10! During this 5x10, you will learn about the exciting events and activities that take place in South Bethlehem. You will meet some of the key leaders in South Bethlehem while having fun making a Lehigh pottery item at Color Me Mine. We will meet at Farrington Square at 4:15pm and walk down to Color Me Mine. If you prefer to walk on your own, be there at 4:30pm. You can also take the Lehigh University bus to the SouthSide stop. Color Me Mine at 4:30pm which is located at 25 East 3rd Street. Pizza and water will be available.

Cultural Greek Council Yard Show

Event Date

A performance where the culturally Greek organizations share their traditions of stepping, saluting, and strolling with the Lehigh community. These traditions share the history of the organization, demonstrate the unity among the members of the organizations, and demonstrate the large degree of pride each member has for their organization.

5x10: 25 Years after the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda: Challenges and Opportunities for the Prevention of Genocide

Event Date

25 years after more than 800,000 Tutsis were killed in the Rwandan Genocide, the international community still wonders how an atrocity of such magnitude could have happnened without western intervention. Mr Adama Dieng, UN Secretary General's Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide will be speaking to Lehigh students about the challenges and opportunities for the prevention of genocide in Rwanda and other parts of the world.

This “raw and real” conversation about HIV provides education on how HIV is transmitted , some statistics on populations disproportionately impacted by HIV, U=U (Undetectable = Un-infectious), PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxis), PEP (post exposure prophylaxis), minimal s.t. i. education and basic condom education.

5x10: Greek Recruitment PREGAME

Event Date

All students interested in joining a Greek organization in Spring 2020 must attend "Greek Recruitment PREGAME," an alcohol education program. The goal is this program is to educate first year students on harm reduction practices and promote safe and healthy choices. OFSA Staff and students will also educate first year students about the opportunities that exist in Greek Life, how to go Greek and their role in the recruitment process, and how to go Greek.
This program meets the 5x10 requirement for Inclusive Leadership.
