In this 2 hour workshop, Bess Rowen (Assistant Professor of Theatre at Villanova) teaches the basics of intimacy choreography! This seminar will provide the attendees with tools that can be used in performance settings to set boundaries, initiate conversations around consent, translate stage directions into movement involving more than one body, and more. Celebrate the arrival of the Chinese New Year with us at Lehigh University’s festive fair! On Feb 10th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, we will be hosting a grand fair showcasing the rich tapestry of Chinese culture. The event will be held in an open area on campus and is expected to draw a joyful crowd of 200-250 attendees. Our festival fair will feature over twenty stalls divided into two exciting halves. On one side, guests can indulge in complimentary Chinese traditional snacks and beverages, savoring the flavors of time-honored recipes. Interactive cultural games like Mahjong, Jiànzi (Shuttlecock), and Chinese jump rope will offer playful engagement, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the joy of Chinese traditions. The other half of the fair is dedicated to performances by Lehigh’s own Chinese student groups. Attendees will be treated to traditional Chinese dances, songs, and a variety of performances, each showcasing the beauty and dynamism of Chinese artistry. This celebration is more than just a fair; it’s a cultural journey aimed at spreading the spirit of the Chinese New Year throughout the campus. It's an opportunity for sharing, learning, and experiencing the joy and culture of one of the most important Chinese festivities. Lehigh University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will be having a practice held at a nearby BJJ gym (10th Planet Bethlehem). This practice will be from 1:30-3:30pm and will be a private, Lehigh-only class going over basic self-defense techniques (beginners and experienced). The actual class will be from 1:30-2:30pm. From 2:30-3:30pm, we will be watching videos and going over what was taught in class and other general information about Jiu Jitsu. Attire --> T-shirt and shorts! $10 due for people who don't have 10th Planet Bethlehem memberships! Donations are also encouraged to support coaching staff.
