This will be an educational seminar meant primarily to illuminate campus sexual violence and and overall the importance of campus safety.
Jason D. Schiffer current LUPD Chief Officer, will speak alongside a guest speaker from the Clery Center, and Break the Silence Group. There will be informational tables held by Lehigh's GVES office and the Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley. These speakers will help convey the tragic story of Jeanne Clery's unfortunate death and the missteps that led up to it. The courageous steps her parents took afterwards to create the Clery Center, and the changes they implemented into law and across all college campus can be seen by everyone, will also be mentioned. We hope that after this seminar, people will have a new appreciation of the current safety regulations and measures individuals take so that another like this can never happen again.
