Presented by Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley
This program breaks down the myths and states the facts regarding sexual violence. Students will learn about intoxicating substances such as alcohol and date-rape drugs as well as their effects. Risk-reduction strategies, boundaries, and bystander intervention will also be discussed as students engage in a conversation based on consent, alcohol, and communication.
The term “Wellness” can have many meanings. What does it mean to you? If you're curious about how to support your own wellness and the wellness of others, we invite you to join us for UCPS's CareWell series. Throughout these discussions, we'll reflect on what it means to be well, how to create an environment suitable for wellness, and explore what to do when you're worried about others.
These conversations will make use of collective knowledge through our reflection, discussion, and exploration to develop personalized strategies for approaching our own challenges and those of the community we strive to serve well.
Although each session may be attended individually, we recognize that wellness is an active and ongoing process, and the benefits will be maximized with an ongoing commitment to learning and exploring these topics.
This discussion will allow us to explore what it means to be a helper and how we feel about our roles.

Lehigh’s African Student Association Back to School Bash! We were hoping we could host a Back To School “cookout” event at Sayer Lodge on Saturday September 2nd from 3 to 7:30pm. We wanted to expose both new and returning students to our beautiful campus and have a fun event to start off the year. We are hoping to collaborate with other senate sponsored student originations to join us in hosting this event (NSBE, BSU, NSBE, WOCA, HOCA, PHI SIGMA CHI INC.) in order to foster a environment that is welcoming of all students involved in these clubs and a way to kick off the school year!

Students, faculty, and staff of all gender identities at all levels of healing from primary, secondary, and vicarious trauma are welcome and can benefit from trauma-informed yoga.

Trauma-informed yoga is a research proven way to help survivors of sexual trauma and those experiencing vicarious trauma heal from their trauma symptoms. It is a combination of focused breathing and mindfulness skills, as well as healing poses. Trauma-informed yoga is an opportunity to learn how to work with your own discomforts. It is a judgment free zone where every participant is able to go at their own pace and skill level. The practice is not meant to be a high cardio or strength training workout, it focuses on grounding, breathing, and mindfulness with comfortable, stretching poses.
Our instructor, Liz Jordon, is certified in trauma-informed practice. The instructor does not leave her own mat and will never touch participants to adjust their pose throughout the practice. It is a space where your body is entirely yours.
The experience of stress leaves a chemical footprint that is initiated with your breath. Often, this stress response is unconscious and also necessary, providing energy to match the need. However, if the chemicals of stress become a habit or go unchecked, the body's immune system response is weakened.
Fortunately, the same breath - made conscious - acts as a remedy and resource to bring the body and mind into balance. In this session you will learn about the physiology of stress as well as participate in useful practices from yogic tradition. Breath, movement and mindfulness support overall physical, emotional and mental well being.
