Invisible Lines: Creating Awareness and Prevention to End Sexual Violence| Gender Violence Education and Support

Event Date

Presented by Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley

This program is designed to explore the dominance of particular narratives on campuses and the larger community to prevent and respond to sexual violence. With a focus on inclusivity, we will discuss gender norms and how they are embedded in today’s culture. An awareness of the spectrum of human sexuality has begun to take center stage. Gender expectations are placed on us based on what body parts we are born with, and they set us up for unrealistic expectations that feed into the imbalance of power and control. Students will examine myths and facts surrounding sexual violence, as well as the roles of boundaries, power, and intoxicating substances. This program hopes to educate, inform, and empower you to create environments that are free from sexual violence.
