Chemical Plant Design and Chemical Engineering Panel

Event Date

This event is based on giving potential chemical engineers in their first year and other underclassmen exposure to life in the professional chemical engineering industry. This activity will guide students through certain considerations when designing a chemical plant with the focus of safety and environmental impact in mind. This will be done by presenting the students with various choices and consequences based off of the choices they make. After this activity, we plan on having a panel of professors and upperclassmen chemical engineers to discuss professional opportunities such as on-campus research, internships, co-ops, etc. The focus of this event is to generate interest in chemical engineering and give exposure to students about life after graduation.

5x10: "Man Enough": A conversation about masculinity

Event Date

AAUW Lehigh, in collaboration with Break the Silence and members of Lehigh's Interfraternity Council, would like to screen Justin Baldoni's "Man Enough" series, where influential men in the entertainment industry sit down for dinner conversation to talk about the way that traditional views of masculinity in America have contributed to an environment of toxic and often harmful behavior, and how they, as men, can help to combat those harmful behaviors. We would like to have an event to screen a 45 minute episode in the series and host a follow up discussion with atendees about what masculinity means to them and specifically how we can combat the issue of toxic masculinity on our campus to create a new culture of openness and allyship among all genders.
