As part of its Jewish and Israel cultural program, AEPi is hosting a webinar titled βThe Rise of New Antisemitism,β where British-Israeli educator Neil Lazarus will explain how history's oldest hatred has evolved and now rears its head in modern society with a particular focus on the recent surge in hate crimes against Jews and, most timely, how antisemitism increases during crises. What has driven a 124% increase in antisemitic hate crimes in the United States over the past four years? Where is the line between political discourse over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and delegitimizing Israel's right to exist, and why isn't the international boycott, divestment, and sanction (BDS) movement simply a form of nonviolent protest? How is antisemitism a real, lived experience for every Jewish person that shapes their identity and place within the greater community? Neil takes a humorous, unbiased approach in delivering his seminars, making these often complex issues digestible for audiences.

Trauma-informed yoga is a research proven way to help survivors of sexual trauma and those experiencing vicarious trauma heal from their trauma symptoms. It is a combination of focused breathing and mindfulness skills, as well as healing poses. Trauma-informed yoga is an opportunity to learn how to work with your own discomforts. It is a judgement free zone where every participant is able to go at their own pace and skill level. The practice is not meant to be a high cardio or strength training workout, it focuses on grounding, breathing, and mindfulness with comfortable, stretching poses.
Our instructor, Liz Jordon, is certified in trauma-informed practice. The instructor does not leave her own mat and will never touch participants to adjust their pose throughout the practice. It is a space where your body is entirely yours.
Students, faculty, and staff of all gender identities at all levels of healing from trauma are welcome and can benefit from trauma-informed yoga.
