The HWC will be hosting a FREE STI Clinic on Tuesday 9/24 from 9:00am - 11:00am & 1:00pm - 4:00pm. You can schedule an appointment on your Student Health Portal. All testing (and visits) are confidential. You will receive your results via secure message in your student health portal in ~24-48 hours. Please enter the clinic and check-in on the 2nd floor; entrance is located on the west-side of Johnson Hall (facing Hitch, Maida, Singleton and Trembley). *Screening provided is for Chlamydia & Gonorrhea. Please be advised that screening includes a urine sample. For other screenings, please contact the Health & Wellness Center.

Come join the Office of International Students & Scholars to learn how to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT is a type of work authorization for F-1 students that allows you work in the United States for 12 months after graduation. This workshop will cover what OPT is, how to apply, and how to maintain your F-1 status once your OPT is approved. We encourage students to review our OPT website prior to the workshop.

Trauma-informed yoga is a research proven way to help survivors of sexual trauma and those experiencing vicarious and secondary trauma heal from their trauma symptoms. It is a combination of focused breathing and mindfulness skills, as well as healing poses. Trauma-informed yoga is an opportunity to learn how to work with your own discomforts. It is a judgment free zone where every participant is able to go at their own pace and skill level. The practice is not meant to be a high cardio or strength training workout, it focuses on grounding, breathing, and mindfulness with comfortable, stretching poses.
Our instructor, Liz Jordon, is certified in trauma-informed practice. The instructor does not leave her own mat and will never touch participants to adjust their pose throughout the practice. It is a space where your body is entirely yours.
Students, faculty, and staff of all gender identities at all levels of healing from primary, secondary, and vicarious trauma are welcome and can benefit from trauma-informed yoga.

By sharing personal experiences from time spent in South Korea, the presentation will explore the cultural, political, and traditional contexts that influence life as an expat, with a special focus on gender dynamics. This event encourages participants to reflect on the complexities they may encounter in different cultural settings and to approach their study abroad experiences with a deeper awareness and understanding. Aligned with the Critical Consciousness category of the 5x10 program, this session aims to cultivate informed and socially aware global citizens.
