Chocolate Club has reached out and partnered with Mr. Cupcake to host a two-week fundraiser. Those interested in supporting us can choose from twenty different flavors of cupcakes to create a mix-and-match package of 4. The funds from this ongoing event will go towards planing a bigger event at the end of the semester. Mr. Cupcake is willing to participate with us, and the executive members of Chocolate Club will be handling the sale. We will also place flyers and ads around campus to further market the event. Everything is set and ready to go, and we will begin receiving orders in the next few days. Cupcakes will be delivered on March 16th, right after spring break! Trauma-informed yoga is a research proven way to help survivors of trauma and vicarious trauma deal with their trauma symptoms. It is a combination of focused breathing and mindfulness skills, as well as healing poses. Trauma-informed yoga is an opportunity to learn how to work with your own discomforts. It is a judgement free zone where every participant is able to go at their own pace and skill level. The practice is not meant to be a high cardio or strength testing workout, it focuses on grounding, breathing, and mindfulness with comfortable, stretching poses. Our instructor, Liz Jordon, is certified in trauma-informed practice. The instructor does not leave her own mat and will never touch participants to adjust their pose throughout the practice. It is a space where your body is entirely yours. Students, faculty, and staff of all gender identities at all levels of healing after a trauma are welcome and can benefit from trauma-informed yoga.

This event is Break the Silence Peer Educators’ annual Valentine’s Day event. This event creates an interactive environment in which all students can use their 5 senses to engage with and explore sexual consent education. This year’s theme is “moving beyond consent” and the event will focus on movement (of the body, boundaries, and relationships), as well as moving campus toward our new model of sex communication. This year’s keynote performances and workshops will focus on pole and chair dancing. In addition to the keynote and workshop there will be aphrodisiacs foods, giveaways, and a photo booth.
