In the past few years antisemitism, or anti-Jewish hatred, has increased exponentially throughout the world. This course will help you understand its history as well as how it is manifesting today. We will also discuss how to address and combat antisemitism today. This session is open to all students. You don't need any knowledge of Judaism, and you don't need to belong to any specific religious or cultural identity group. The session will be based on three brief videos, followed by discussion. The videos will focus on: a brief history of Judaism, a brief history of antisemitism, and an exploration of antisemitism today, including on college and university campuses. This session will be facilitated by Rabbi Steve Nathan, director of Jewish Student Life and Associate Chaplain, with the assistance of Alec Dron '25. Given the serious nature of the subject matter, please only sign up if you know that you can attend the entire 90 minute session. Trigger warning: given the sensitive nature of this topic there will be photos and video clips which you may find disturbing. If you are concerned about that, or anything else, please contact Steve Nathan at spn217@lehigh.edu Hosted by: Lehigh Hillel, NavigateLU Administration, Office of Jewish Student Life Additional Information can be found at: https://lehigh.campuslabs.com/engage/event/10414298
