The Writing Graduate Assistant in the Writing and Math Center works closely with the coordinator and director to train staff and deliver services for the Writing Center.  The center offers tutoring services for writing, and the GA will not generally be responsible for working with math tutoring at the center.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all tutor meetings and training sessions
  • Assist in setting and designing curriculum for training and meeting
  • Manage the center’s social media and outreach programs
  • Design and deliver workshops for First-Year Writing and beyond
  • Assist the Coordinator in her duties and provide coverage when the coordinator is out of the office

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in the English Department graduate program at Lehigh University
  • Completed Practicum and currently a Teaching Fellow in the English Department
  • Experience in tutoring in Lehigh’s Writing and Math Center
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Experience or interest in rhetoric and composition (especially Writing Center work) preferred

 

Compensation:

The position runs from mid-August through mid-May. The assistantship pays a stipend, and GA’s are welcome to tutor 2 additional hours per week while maintaining their Teaching Fellowship.
