During the third phase of Leadership Lehigh, students examine leadership from the community/societal perspective. Phase 3 is designed to give students an understanding of the complex issues facing the society. It is also structured to help students examine the privileges they are afforded and provide them outlet to use personal privilege to motivate and educate others toward meaningful action around some of the greatest societal issues facing the world today.

In groups of 3 or more, Phase 3 students address a community defined social justice issue through the art of documentary film. Each Call to Action Documentary team was responsible for planning and filming the documentary, which was be themed around one of the PeaceJam-Global Call to Action issues. Students spent most of the semester discussing & researching their selected issue, serving that issue in the community, interviewing key players & agencies' addressing that issue and creating a educational & motivation "Call to Action Documentary" that will inspire others to become involved with eradicating that issue to contribute to the PeaceJam goal of one billion acts of service by 2016.

The mission of the PeaceJam Foundation is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody. The topics that Phase III chose to highlight this year are the following:

  • Student Safety and Social Life on Campus
  • The Effect of Housing on Unity
