Domestic Violence Awareness Month is recognized each October. In order to continue domestic violence and intimate partner abuse awareness throughout the year, the office of Survivor Support and Intimacy Education will be launching a page dedicated to these important issues while centering survivors. Far too often, this issue is overlooked, seen as a personal private issue, or stereotyped as only physical abuse. In reality, intimate partner abuse comes in many different forms which can include but are not limited to emotional, economic, sexual, and verbal abuse, all of which have harmful lasting impacts. Intimate partner abuse is multifaceted and complex and has a ripple effect on many relationships. This page will hold resources, signs, intervention strategies, ways to support friends or loved ones, and education.
