Graduate Assistant for Student Involvement and The SOuRCe
This Graduate Assistant will work as a member of the Dean of Students staff committing 20 hours per week and will receive a stipend of $18,000 across 10 months and 18 credit hours per year (9 in the Fall, 9 in the Spring). The Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Assistant Director of Student Involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be enrolled in a degree program at Lehigh University

Work well independently and show a high level of initiative

Ability to work effectively with undergraduate students

Strong organizational skills

Communicate clearly and effectively.

Flexibility in schedule to accommodate occasional evening hours.
Preferred:

Previous customer service experience helpful

Willingness to learn Engage platform, Canva, and other department-specific softwares as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Club and Organization Advising:
-
Provide support in short and long-term capacities in starting clubs and organizations on campus.

Educate new club leaders regarding the Student Senate Trial Club Process and provide support to new club leaders throughout this process.

Advise new club leaders through navigating questions and concerns that arise when starting a new campus organization (e.g. increasing club membership, sustainability considerations, navigating team dynamics, drafting mission and vision, event planning, and more).

Co-advise the Student Senate Club Affairs Committee chair with the Assistant Director of Clubs and Organizations in at least one weekly meeting and on-the-spot as needed.
Computer skills and Programs:

Google Drive: Work with the departmental file and document storage systems to maintain workflow processes, guidelines, and procedures.

WhenToWork: Create “The Source” – (resource room) student staff schedules.

Graphic design (helpful): Work with Photoshop, Canva or other graphic design programs to create posters and info graphics for the department.
Student Staffing

Hiring: Assist with the interviewing and hiring of students to fill open student staff positions in the SOuRCe, (Student Organization Resource Center).

Staff Retreats: Assist with the program development and implementation of the Student Staff Retreat for the fall and spring. Incorporate Student Life Curriculum bLUeprint learning established by our department.

Scheduling: Coordinate student staff schedules for The SOuRCe.

Student Staff Training: Assist with the training of student staff, provide input and support for staff meetings. Incorporate the five Foundations bLUeprint Student Life Curriculum, prepare Lesson Plans and Learning Outcomes, and create an Assessment Plan for Student Staff. Review and make necessary changes to operations and procedures manuals.

Staff Meetings: Meet with Assistant Director for Student Involvement and develop criteria based on the needs of the group.

Evaluations: Assist in the evaluation process of student staff members at least once per year.
Event Planning:

Event Planning Workshops: Work closely with Assistant Director of Student Involvement to present customized Workshops throughout the year.

Advise student staff members of the SOuRCe in organizing and implementing campus events.
Other Responsibilities:

Student Involvement Programming: Assist with programming initiatives tasked to the Office of Student Engagement. This includes, but is not limited to: Club Expo, Great Pocono Escape (Club Leader Insitute), Outdoor Adventure Program, and other programs.

The SOuRCe: Assist and monitor the day-to-day operations of The SOuRCe.

Regulations: Be familiar with the university’s regulations, policies, and procedures

Student Involvement Resource: Serve as a resource for student groups or organizations planning events on campus.
