Getting Home

Getting home for break requires preparation, and when you’re in a new area, finding the needed information to plan your trip can be difficult. Lehigh students use many different transportation methods to get home, including buses and air travel. Below are some local services that are available.

Bus Services

Trans-Bridge Lines operates bus services out of the Bethlehem Transportation Center. This is the closest bus stop to Lehigh’s campus, and is found at 635 Guetter St., off of West Broad St. View the bus stop location on Google Maps. Transbridge provides daily service to New York City and Newark Airport. (Service to JFK Airport is currently suspended)

Martz Bus operates out of the Allentown Bus Terminal at 625 Linden St. in Allentown with daily service to Philadelphia, Wilkes Barre and Scranton. 

Greyhound operates out of the Allentown Bus Terminal at 112 N. 6th St. in Allentown with services to destinations across the United States. 

Fullington Trailways also offers service to Philadelphia from the Allentown Bus Terminal at 112 N. 6th St., Platform C in Allentown

My Bus Home provides students from Westchester County and Long Island, NY, MD/DC and New England rides to and from campus over the academic breaks.

Which bus takes me to Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City?

Trans-Bridge Lines has service from the Bethlehem Transportation Center to Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Air Travel

Philadelphia International AirportNewark Liberty International Airport, and John F. Kennedy International Airport are all within a two-hour radius of Lehigh’s campus. Furthermore, you can use the local airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport, to catch connecting flights to larger hubs.

How do I get to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) from Lehigh?

Take the Martz Group bus, from the Allentown Bus Terminal at 625 Linden St to Philadelphia (30th Street Station). The bus will take around 1 hour and 35 minutes. From 30th Street Station, take the SEPTA train (which is located in the station. Tickets can be purchased at the booth), which will directly take you to all of the terminals. The train will take 20 minutes and returns to the station frequently.

Airport (JFK) from Lehigh? (Service Currently Suspended)

Take the Trans-Bridge Lines bus from bus stop at 635 Guetter Street, Bethlehem which will take you directly to the airport. The bus trip will take around 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Tickets can be purchased at the bus stop or at the airport depending on where you are coming from. Schedule and fare information can be found on their website.

How do I get to Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) from Lehigh?

In order to get to LVIA by bus, you can take a Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority (LANTA). LANTA is free with a Lehigh University ID. Start at the Brodhead and 4th bus stop. From there you will take the 108 or 212 Bus Northbound to the Bethlehem Transportation Center on the North Side of Bethlehem at 635 Guetter Street. Open the location in Google Maps. Then take the 215 Bus Northbound and get off at the Lehigh Valley International Airport at the Lower Level stop, where you can make your way to the airport. Off-Campus Transportation

Students can ride LANTA for free with their Lehigh University ID. LANTA provides bus services in and around the Lehigh Valley. Students can present their Lehigh ID upon entering the LANTA bus. Fare boxes have been configured to recognize Lehigh University identification cards.
