Camp Hawk Counselor Position Description 2025-2026

Camp Hawk Counselors (CHCs) are student role models who serve a vital role in the transition of our first-year students into the Lehigh community. Camp Hawk Counselors are dedicated leaders who possess strong communication skills, a desire to be part of a team, and pride in Lehigh University. CHCs work together to facilitate activities and foster connections with a small group of first-year students throughout the weekend of Camp Hawk and throughout the fall semester. This is a great way to get involved, meet new friends and make a difference!

Requirements

  • Must be a current full-time Lehigh University student
  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher and be in good standing with the University
  • Must abide by all University policies
  • Must be able to attend all Spring training sessions on Mondays from 5:00pm-6:30pm EST and the OFYE Staff Retreat on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21, 2026
  • Must be able to return to campus and participate in training and assist with OFYE programs from Sunday, August 16 through Sunday, August 23, 2026
  • Must be able to attend at all spring and fall trainings, and be available to attend the Camp Hawk Weekend

Responsibilities of a Camp Hawk Counselor

  • Lead a small group of first-year students throughout Camp Hawk
  • Facilitate meaningful conversations with first-year students
  • Role model appropriate academic and social behaviors to incoming students
  • Work with a team of approximately 10 Camp Hawk Counselors and the Director of First-Year Experience
  • Attend weekly spring and early fall training/planning sessions
  • Attend Camp Hawk Counselor training and assist with Move-In week programming in August
  • Have fun!
