Getting Started

You are here

As a new student, there are a few things you need to complete before you get started. We call it your Monthly Checklist. Make sure you complete these items. Finishing these tasks on your own, or with a little guidance from us, will help you in the event you have a question when you arrive on campus.

Lehigh Email

You should have access to your Lehigh Gmail account after you've made your deposit to commit. It is available at lehigh.edu/google. All official university communication will ONLY be sent to your Lehigh email after Tuesday, December 12.

Register for Courses

You should contact your college of enrollment to advise and assist you with the registration process. Their contact information can be on our Academic Contacts webpage listed by college or program.

ID Cards

New students living on campus will receive their Lehigh Student ID Card upon arrival and check-in to their Residence Hall. Students not living on campus can receive their Lehigh ID Card from the IDEAL office by stopping in during their office hours if they are commuting to campus for classes. Follow these instructions for submitting an ID photo. If you lose your ID Card, a new one can be obtained at the IDEAL Card Office for a fee.
