Program Description
The Student Leadership Advancement Team is designed to foster a sense of community among students on campus while equipping them with essential skills and perspectives for effective leadership. Through a series of structured experiential learning workshops, participants will have the opportunity to establish and refine their own leadership philosophy, informed by hands-on experiences and guided discussions.
Program Objectives
By participating in SLA, students will:
-
Build a strong sense of community and make meaningful connections with peers.
-
Develop and articulate their own leadership philosophy through experiential learning.
-
Explore diverse leadership perspectives, recognizing the challenges and opportunities in leading within a global context.
SLA takes place each year during the Spring semester. There are 8 bi-weekly workshops (an hour and half long) that students must attend. Specific dates/times change each year and will be announced via email and on our Instagram @lehighosi
We expect students to attend all workshops and complete/present a Leadership Philosophy Statement, which can be expressed creatively through various formats (e.g., written statement, video, song, art piece, etc.). We will use our second to final workshop to work on this project. There are no homework assignments, exams, or graded work. Our sessions will focus on experiential learning activities and discussions.
Applications for the following Spring semester will be live in mid-December and close mid-January. Information will be sent via email or broadcasted on our Instagram @lehighosi
