Leadership LaUnchpad Series

Leadership LaUnchpad is a series of stand-alone leadership workshops throughout the Fall semester designed to assist first-year students to cultivate their leadership skills, discover their personal leadership philosophy, and gain knowledge about current leadership trends. Using the 5 bLUeprint foundations as a premise, students will participate in experiential-learning workshops and group discussions to LaUnch into their leadership journey at Lehigh. These workshops count towards the 5x10 requirement and lunch is provided at each workshop. 

Fall 2023 Workshops

Self Concept: Determining and Reflecting on Your Values

Through this workshop, students will identify their core values and participate in a values-based discussion game to identify how their experiences and identities have shaped them, how their decisions align with their values, and how they will approach their first year of college based on their values.

Healthy Connections: How Well Do You Listen?

In this workshop, students will learn why active listening is important in their relationships with others by communicating with others about a personal story, taking a listening skills assessment, and receiving techniques needed to be a skilled active listener.

Date/Time: Thursday, September 21 at 12:15-1:15pm at STEPS 280

Creative Curiosity: The Leadership Labyrinth, an Interactive Escape Room

In this workshop, students will participate in a team-building escape room focused on communication, problem-solving, decision making, and confidence building. Students will need to use their imagination and creativity to successfully pass all levels of the escape room.

Critical Consciousness: Exploring Systems of Inequity

Through participation in a group resource trading activity, students will learn to consider societal inequity, how different groups are afforded advantages and disadvantages, and their role in perpetuating these systems.

Date/Time: Wednesday, October 18 at 12:15-1:15pm at HST L185

Strategic Adaptability: A Survival Simulation

During this workshop, students will navigate a survival simulation to learn adaptability within new situations through the use of collaborative and group communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
