Leadership LaUnchpad is a series of stand-alone leadership workshops throughout the Fall semester designed to assist first-year students to cultivate their leadership skills, discover their personal leadership philosophy, and gain knowledge about current leadership trends. Using the 5 bLUeprint foundations as a premise, students will participate in experiential-learning workshops and group discussions to LaUnch into their leadership journey at Lehigh. These workshops count towards the 5x10 requirement and a meal is provided at each workshop. Due to room capacities and food purposes, students must RSVP on LINC

Fall 2024 Workshops

What does leadership really look like? In this fun and creative workshop, we’ll explore the difference between how leadership appears on the surface (or on social media) and what happens behind the scenes. Through individual and group storytelling, you’ll reflect on how leadership moments are shared and celebrated, and how to embrace your own authentic leadership journey.

Unleash your inner listener and build authentic connections with other first-year students! This engaging workshop is designed to enhance your active listening skills and transform the way you connect with others by taking a self-assessment and participating in a fun listening challenge with a partner. By the end of this workshop, you'll discover the power of truly hearing and understanding those around you.

How well do you know what truly matters to you and how do those values shape the way you lead and connect with others? In this interactive workshop, you’ll reflect on your own personal values and explore how values guide decision-making, relationships, and long-term goals. Through small-group conversations and collaborative activities, you’ll also examine how shared values help build stronger teams and communities.

Who gets to lead and why? In this interactive session, you’ll step into a leadership selection scenario and examine real-life dilemmas around bias, access, and opportunity. Through discussion and reflection, you’ll explore how leadership is often defined (and limited) by systems and how you can help challenge those norms to build more inclusive spaces.

Think you’ve got what it takes to lead when things fall apart? In this fast-paced, hands-on challenge, you and others will take on a creative building task at a fictional design firm. Roles shift, plans change, and unexpected twists will test how you adapt under pressure. Whether you're leading, following, or figuring it out as you go, this interactive experience will help you explore your leadership style and how you respond to the unexpected.
